Actum Health is continuing to monitor the Provincial Health Officer’s updates and local Health Authorities’ direction regarding COVID-19. Due to the rapidly changing circumstances related to COVID-19, Actum Health will be conducting all clinical services via telehealth to promote the safety and protection of all clients, our staff and our community. No in-person or in-clinic care will be provided by Actum Health or its staff for the indefinite future. We are committed to continuing to provide assessment and treatment services to our clients during this time; however, will be doing so in a manner that keeps everyone’s health and safety in mind.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is the delivery of healthcare services (assessment and treatment) using technology (such as video conferencing). It allows care to be provided to people living in remote/isolated areas, or when physical contact must be limited (as is the case with the COVID-19 pandemic).

Do regulatory bodies (such as professional Colleges) support telehealth?

Yes, when appropriate and safe for the client. Colleges and professional associations have guidelines and direction for telehealth services to support the efforts of clinicians to provide safe and timely care.

What technology do I need?

An email address and device with a camera (for example a smart phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet).As all Actum Health care is by appointment only, an Actum Health staff member will be available in advance of your assessment/service to answer any questions you have and to walk you through set up for your appointment.

Chronic Concussion Program

The program is developed to help support those with concussion and/or mild traumatic brain injury, who continue to struggle with emotional, behavioural, physical, and cognitive symptoms.

Post-Concussion Assessment:

Comprehensive assessments are undertaken by a team of specialists including physicians, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, and/or neuro-psychiatrists. The assessment includes various recommendations for medications, as well as physical, psychological and behavioural interventions.

Interdisciplinary Chronic Concussion Program – ICCP ( 4 to 8 weeks program)

The Chronic Concussion Program is a structured 8 week day program which supports emotional, cognitive and physical recovery, as well as gradual return to activities of daily living. The program is supported by a neuropsychologist, neuropsychiatrist, physician, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, and others qualified specialists.
